Concrete Roof Titles

For years the roof’s of the UK have predominately been covered in concrete roof tiles. These were first made by Redland and Marley in the 1920’s when there was a shortage of clay tiles. Both brands are still well known today.

Tiles have been used to cover roofs for over 5000 years but it is only relatively lately that Concrete Roof Tiles have come into the market, their history comes from all over the world but probably starting in Bavaria in the 19^th Century, some tiles made during that period still stand today giving proof that concrete can stand the longevity of time. The major players in the UK Market today are, Sandtoft, Marley, BMI Redland, Russell Roof Tiles and Forticrete.
